About us
STEM Learning Tutors was set up with a simple mission:
Provide online tuition at affordable prices without compromising quality.
To ensure quality, we employ senior tutors who are tasked with making sure our tuition offering is of the highest standard.
Our senior tutors hold a minimum of one post-graduate qualification, such as a PGCE and have around 15 years of teaching experience in a school setting. Also, some of the senior tutors serve as the Head of Department in their school. Our non-senior tutors, meanwhile, have an educational background in the subjects they provide tuition in.
We make prices affordable by offering tuition exclusively online. This means we can bypass expensive rents and other costs associated with a physical classroom/ learning space in London.
Another way we are able to make tuition further affordable is by delivering sessions in a group setting. This allows us to pass on savings to parents without having to compromise on quality.
Stem Learning Tutors is part of the SLT Tuition Group. Our sister company, Grammar School Pathway, offers specialist 11+ tuition in London, which may be of interest to parents with children aged 7-10.
Meet our tutors
Ismail Whiscals, MBA,B.Eng, PGCE
Ismail is an educator and curriculum developer with more than 20 years experience in various curricula including IGCSE, IB and the American Diploma qualification.
Before transitioning to teaching, Ismail worked as a civil engineer for many years across Africa and the Middle East. Currently, he is using his wealth of experience and knowledge to inspire students in Maths and Science at Stem Learning Tutors.
Ismail is currently the Head of Science at an international School in Saudi Arabia.
Rahel Bokth, BA, PGCE
Rahel Bokth is a qualified teacher in the United Kingdom and is a consultant-tutor at Stem Learning Tutors.
He studied Media and Sociology at Goldsmiths College, University of London. He gained his PGCE from the University of East London and began teaching in 2009. Rahel is also an examiner for Edexcel.
Rahel has been the Head of Department with the responsibility of raising the attainment of underachievers in his department in multiple schools in inner and outer London.
Rahel does not have any teaching duties at Stem Learning Tutors (he is not qualified to teach STEM subjects), but he does advise on curriculum design and pupil progress.
Rahel is currently teaching in an inner London School.
Abdul Aziz, BA, PGCE
Abdul Aziz is a qualified teacher in the United Kingdom.
He studied Geography at the prestigious King’s College London and then gained his PGCE at the world renowned UCL Institute of Education. He has been teaching since 2010 and is also an examiner for Edexcel.
Abdul does not have any teaching duties at Stem Learning Tutors (he is not qualified to teach STEM subjects), but he does have teaching duties with our '11-plus' division, known as Grammar School Pathway.
Abdul is currently teaching in an inner London School.
